The traditional International Press Conference on the upcoming edition of Xylexpo will be held on 18 February 2020 and will introduce the biennial world exhibition for woodworking technology and furniture supplies scheduled from May 26 to 29 at FieraMilano Rho Fairgrounds.

The fourth edition of XIPC-Xylexpo International Press Conference will take place at Enzo Jannacci’s auditorium located on the 31st floor of building “Pirellone” in Milan; this location was selected to celebrate one of the major symbols of Italian design and engineering, 60 years after its inauguration and slightly more than 40 years after the demise of its brilliant architect, Mr. Giò Ponti, an ever-renowned top figure in both the furniture and design industry.

Acting as a host Lorenzo Primultini, President of Acimall, will outline the distinctive features of Xylexpo 2020, whereas Dario Corbetta, Director of Acimall, will deliver a speech on “Woodworking technologies: markets, developments and future outlooks”. Andrea Giavon, Director of Catas, will focus on “Training: the challenge of the future”, in the wake of the choice made by this year’s edition to put the spotlight on the big topic of training new technicians for the woodworking and furniture industry, also through some important conferences.

The focus of the press conference will expand beyond Xylexpo: expected attendance includes more than 70 journalists, about forty of which from abroad, that will have the opportunity to think about the role of exhibitions in an ever increasingly “electronic” world together with Massimo Goldoni, Chairman of CFI (Comitato Fiere Industria, from the National Association of Italian Industrialists); Paolo Borgio, director of events at FieraMilano, and Luigi De Vito, vice-president of Eumabois, who will share their opinions. Topic of this conversation will be “The art of the encounter”: trade exhibitions in the digital universe.

One of the exhibition’s highlights is the presence of fifteen “top exhibitors” (Aimsad, Bacci, Biesse, Big on Dry, Dalso, Giardina Group, Greda, Homag, Ima, Leuco, Metal World, Salvamac, Scm Group, Vitap, Weinig) who will be the focus of XIE-Xylexpo Information Event, an opportunity for whoever decides to sponsor the event that acts as a foreshow of the proposals for Maggio Milanese.
